The Star Wars Celebrations

The Star Wars Celebration functions are massive conventions organized by Lucasfilm where supporters gather to celebrate the prestigious movie franchises' history. With the first one being held in '99 before the premier of Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace, there were 7 Star Wars Celebrations so far including one in London, England and one just outside of Tokyo. Many thousands of people, a lot of whom are decked out in impressive Halloween Costumes get together over three or four days to check out actual props used during making the movies and encounter stars of the Star Wars movies. Celebration II, which was in Indianapolis, Indiana was attended by around 75,000 fans!
One fan club who is always at the event is the 501st Legion. The 501st is a collection of fanatics who wear home made, though realistic, storm trooper costumes and have appeared at Star Wars conventions across the globe. While Lucasfilm and the 501st aren't officially connected they work together frequently especially at these Star Wars Celebrations. The 501st has almost five thousand members in 40 nations around the world and members undergo a heavy screening process prior to being let in. They once even served as security at the once a year DragonCon science fiction festival held in Atlanta!
Star Wars Celebrations have showcased appearances by iconic Star Wars actors such as Carrie Fischer who played the role of Princess Leia, and even Star Wars creator George Lucas! The last Celebration was just held in Orlando, Florida and was attended by about 30,000 followers. 3 Do-It-Yourself Home Improvement Projects

1. Replace hardware and light fixtures.

You don't want bright gold fixtures in one room and brushed nickel in the next.

2. Paint.

Painting interior walls is very easy and something anyone can do, if you've got the time. Plus, it can make a huge difference in how your house looks, especially if your walls are all white right now! Pick out colors that will go well with your color schemes in the house, and remember to always choose a paint chip several shades lighter than what you want it to look like -- paint always looks several shades darker when the entire room is that color.

Painting the exterior might be a bit more tricky, especially if you have a two-story house, but it is still possible to do yourself. With a ladder and perhaps some friends to help, you should be able to get your house painted in a couple of days or so. New storm shutters are easy to order, though you will have to measure the old ones and be sure to order the correct size in advance of when you will need them. Also, be sure to consider newer styles of shutters that last longer in weather, such as fiberglass shutters. This is also a great time to replace those rotted old window shutters.

3. Landscaping.

Although many people don't like to do landscaping, in fact most people CAN, as it is pretty easy to do. And landscaping can make a huge difference in how your home looks! Simply trimming back overgrown bushes can make your yard look much better.

Before you get to work on your yard, have an idea of what you want to accomplish. Start by taking out everything you plan on getting rid of, and pruning the rest. Don't be afraid to plant where you would like! Be sure to do a little research online to find out how to properly prune or plant the specific species you are working with. You may think you have a black thumb, but in all honesty you probably just never knew what you were doing before.

As an added bonus, you can beat your chest with joy every time your child gets a treat. Probably best to check the weather forecast, as a humid Halloween and an ape costume are better not mixed.
